Christmas Morning

The annual matching pajama picture did not turn out so well this year. Kaden usually wakes up at 9:00 but his big brother made him get up at 8:00 on Christmas morning. He was a little upset.

Santa came to Kyle & Kaden's house!
Kyle rounding the corner to see what Santa brought. Checking out the loot.
Checking out his "blue kitchen"!
Trying out Kaden's Mickey Mouse Clubhouse plane.
Kaden finally decided to make an appearance.
Checking out the kitchen.
The only shot I got of them together opening presents.
Kaden playing with his plane.
Watching his new train crash into Kyle's laptop.
We spent the afternoon at Gran and Pop Pop's house. We were having so much fun that I did not take a single picture. Hopefully someone else did. :) Kyle and Kaden got a TON of toys there too. I think they could open up their own toy store now.

'Twas the night before Christmas....

We got home from Gran and Pop Pop's house way past Kaden's bedtime. He was tired so we put him to bed before we started out Christmas Eve routine. Here he is all ready for bed.

Kyle set out cookies and milk for Santa.
When we visited Santa a few weeks ago, Santa told Kyle that the reindeer would love some carrots. We usually put out "reindeer food" but Kyle remembered Santa's request and insisted that we do carrots this year. Kyle hung the special Santa key on the door knob so that Santa could come in since we don't have a chimney.
We read Polar Express then Kyle was ready for bed.

Christmas Eve at Gran and Pop Pop's House

We had our family Christmas Eve party at Gran and Pop Pop's new house this year. The kids had a lot of fun playing together. Kaden was even in a good mood which means Mommy & Daddy had fun too!

Kyle, Donnie & Scooter playing with the train set.
Kaden found his favorite kitchen in the toy closet so he just played in the closet for a while.
Kyle making sure Donnie sounds well.
Just a cute shot of Kaden.
Kyle opening presents. Kaden was grumpy for present time so I did not get any pictures of him opening presents.

Preschool Holiday Skate Party

Today was Kyle's preschool holiday party at the skating rink. This was Kyle's first time to skate so I was not sure how it was going to go. He did great! It really helped that his skates were tightened so much that the wheels hardly turned. He was doing more of a skate walk but he had a lot of fun.

Here he is posing in his skates
And skating/walking
Taking a spin around the rink with his teacher. We had the entire place reserved for our party so the adults were allowed to go on the floor without skates! He did crash a few times. Since I am such a nice mom I decided to take his picture instead of helping him get back up.
They had popcorn and lemonade for a snack.
And the group shot...

Kyle & Kaden's Christmas Pictures

Since the Christmas cards have all been delivered by now (hopefully), I thought it was time to share our Christmas pictures. We had them taken at St. Andrews United Methodist Church by Chera (a very talented photographer from my "mommy board"). Here are a few of my favorites:

Kaden did about as well as could be expected. We were lucky to get several good shots of him because he was not in the mood for pictures. This one makes me laugh:

Kaden is 18 months old!!!

Kaden had his 18 month check up today. Here are his stats:

Height: 36 inches (+95th percentile)

Weight: 31 lb. 11 oz. (95th percentile)

Head: 18 3/4 in. (50th percentile)

He has the height of a 2 1/2 year old. The doctor told Kyle to be nice to his little brother because he was going to be bigger than him some day. Kaden had a great check up and got 2 shots that he was not too thrilled about.

In other Kaden news, he is finally WALKING!! He has been taking steps for a while now but he is finally confident enough to walk more than he crawls.

Here is a little video of him in action. This was taken when he first started walking well. I was so excited that I did not even notice I was holding the camera the wrong way so the video is side ways.
